Resident Advisor is a leading global platform for discovering and booking electronic music events. It serves both consumers - fans seeking tickets to gigs, clubs, and festivals and promoters, who rely on the platform to list, manage, and optimise their events.

Resident Advisor’s team didn’t have the tools needed to match the speed and complexity of a global music-tech business. Simple queries took hours, building dashboards was slow and resource-heavy, and integrating new data sources or metrics required major effort. This made it difficult to support marketing, product, and sales teams effectively. The legacy SQL environment was slow and didn’t scale, there were no unified data models for cross-functional reporting, and merging internal ticketing data with tools like Mixpanel, HubSpot, or queueing systems was a challenge. Manual workflows added further delays across campaign planning, promoter insights, and product experimentation.

Day1Data partnered with Resident Advisor to build a modern data stack that could support the speed and scale of their growing business. The project focused on creating a scalable infrastructure, accelerating insights, and enabling the internal team to take long-term ownership. In Phase 1, Day1Data modernised the data infrastructure by deploying a cloud-based warehouse, integrating tools like Mixpanel, HubSpot, and internal APIs, and building dbt pipelines to ensure clean, consistent data. Phase 2 delivered a suite of real-time dashboards in Preset, covering ticket sales, revenue attribution, queue behaviour, and funnel performance - replacing slow, manual reporting with dynamic insights for marketing, ops, and leadership. In Phase 3, improved marketing attribution led to a 50% increase in ROAS through smarter targeting and spend allocation. Phase 4 focused on enablement, with training on dbt, Preset, and deployment workflows, ensuring the Resident Advisor team could confidently own and scale their new stack.
